Durat — Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 July 2026 Status: DRAFT — review before publishing. Replace [email protected], [DEVELOPER_NAME] and https://durat.app/privacy before submission.
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the Durat iOS app, operated by [DEVELOPER_NAME] ("we"). By using the app you agree to these Terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which applies where these Terms are silent.
2. The service
Durat helps you track food items, expiry dates, waste, and nutrition. The app is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no paid tiers.
3. Accounts
You can use Durat without an account. If you choose to create one — with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple — you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the activity on your account. You must provide an address you control and be old enough to consent to data processing in your country.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms. To delete your account and its server-side records, contact [email protected]; see our Privacy Policy: https://durat.app/privacy.
4. Your data
Your food inventory, history, and statistics are stored on your device and are not uploaded. You are responsible for exporting backups if you want to preserve data across devices or reinstalls. If you sign in, we additionally hold your email address and a log of the barcodes you scan — see the Privacy Policy for the detail.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse engineer the app, abuse the OCR/product-lookup services (e.g., automated bulk requests), submit false or offensive product data to the shared product catalogue, or use the app unlawfully. We may throttle or block abusive traffic to third-party integrations, and remove or correct catalogue entries.
6. Shared product data
When you confirm a scanned product, its details (barcode, name, category, brand, package size, nutrition) may be added to a shared product catalogue so other users get faster lookups. By contributing you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use and distribute that product information within the app. Contributions describe the product, not you.
7. Third-party services
Product data comes from Open Food Facts, recipes from TheMealDB, cloud OCR from OCR.space, and account/database hosting from Supabase. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data. Nutrition and expiry information is informational only — always check the physical product. The app is not medical, dietary, or food-safety advice.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is" and free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and limit our liability for any claim arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by us, and your statutory consumer rights in the EU).
9. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these Terms.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; the date above will change and material changes will be noted in release notes. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
